Crash, Bang, Zap!
Okay, so I lied; I am doing an entry tonight.
I ended up getting sidetracked into an interesting, but extremely subtle, problem at work today. All my mental CPU power got eaten up trying to work through it all. When I was about 95% done, I got a phone call that I was late for a meeting. Yagh!
The meeting was for a new Web-based adjunct to some of our software, and I'm mainly contributing by helping them learn what they need to know to get out of the initial startup phase and into the regular development cycle that the rest of the company is on. And I guess I'll be doing a little testing, too. It would be damn cool to be more involved with if I weren't already booked through December or so.
I picked up the rest of this week's comics tonight, but haven't read any of them yet. I know they included the new Supreme and JLA, as well as the paperback collection of Terminal City, which is written by Dean Motter, creator of Mister X. I couldn't get into it when it was a monthly series, but I sometimes find I enjoy comics more when they're collected.
And tonight was the Robo Rally-o-rama. We had five people, and had a wonderful time pushing people around and shooting each other with lasers. It generally seemed to be well-received, although I was perhaps the most enthusiastic. It is total chaos with five people. I won two of the three games we played, although my first win was pretty much a godsend. It was pretty funny to see one player's damaged robot go spinning off down a conveyor belt to the far side of the board.
Playing a silly game for three-plus hours was just what I needed this week. I think tomorrow will be a better day for it.
