A TV Day

Pretty much spent today watching television. Watching TV is usually okay while I'm watching it, but it makes me feel kind of empty at the end of the day. I didn't set foot outside the apartment today. I did give the cats a lot of attention, though.

I watched the James Bond film Thunderball on TBS in the afternoon. I'd never seen it before - though I have seen its "remake", Never Say Never Again. Thunderball is often pronounced the worst of the Connery Bond films, but although it was rather dull and anticlimactic, it wasn't outright bad like Diamonds are Forever was.

Watching this film reminded me why most of what I watch on TV I tape first. Too many fricking commercials.

I watched a whole bunch of Homicide episodes on tape. Friday's new one was kind of dull. There was at least ten minutes of film time which did not advance the story, and which basically accomplished nothing. Aargh. This episode - "Kellerman, P.I." - should have been a one-episode story. Or better yet, a two-episode story with an actual story.

And, I watched a few Batman/Superman episodes, including the wonderful "Knight Time", in which Superman impersonates Batman, and which is hilariously entertaining.

Finally, I watched some football, though only half-heartedly. If the 49ers win tomorrow night (at home against Detroit), I should win the pool for the week - regardless of the outcome of tonight's game.

I did actually accomplish something (besides laundry), though: I updated the web site for WisCon. Bully for me.
