Yeah, I Think It's Time

Well, I'm still having problems with my computer - little corruptions that Norton Utilities can fix, but that are irritating nonetheless. I suspect it's a prelude to a bigger problem, so I guess it's time for me to look for a new Mac. Shouldn't be too hard, I just need to do it. I'm leaning towards getting a 266 MHz desktop G3 Mac, which will run me a little under $2000. I've only looked at the MacWarehouse catalog so far, and their comes with a Zip Drive, which I don't need since I already have one.

So, maybe I'll hit the stores this week. We have two good Mac sources in town: a CompUSA (which is where I bought my Powerbook), and a local shop. Prices I expect will be about the same, but the question is who has what I want in stock. I don't want to have to wait a week or something for it to come in.

Then I should try to figure out what to do with the thing currently sitting on my desk. Sell it for parts? See if anyone wants to take a chance on it? Throw it out? How do I go about selling it? I dunno.

I went to a WisCon meeting around noon today, which was long and not all that exciting, but I did get some information with which to update the Web page. Then I went to work to help my friend Tracy collate her new fanzine, Monstrous Crow #2, which she'll be mailing out before too long, I expect.

And then I came home and ran Norton to fix a kink in my hard drive. Sigh.

Tonight maybe I'll work on a zine for my APA, and do some reading. And cleaning - I still have a bit more cleaning to do. Whee!

I gotta make sure to get a good night's sleep tonight, though.
