Bouncing Back?

This was a day like I haven't had in quite some time.

First, I was able to just sit down at my computer and work, on the same project, for the whole day (almost), without having to go consult with people on little undefined details or spending large amounts of time helping other people with their projects. This is how I like to work. Ghod save us from design meetings, status meetings, etc. etc. It was very nice, and I got a lot done.

We had our little Christmas gathering at the end of the day at work. We did the "secret Santa" thing among our team, which is entertaining. The giving is more fun than the receiving in that case, really. One guy got one of those Nerf football-dart things, and several of us spent some time after the party in our big lunch room throwing it back and forth. I keep forgetting that with my arm reach I'm functionally taller than most other people; too bad my hand-eye coordination isn't better!

This evening we got together to play Magic, playing partners. Matt and I got consistently creamed until the last game, when we won a close one. Although I know my decks have some major flaws, we got beaten as badly as we did mainly due to exceedingly bad luck. But we ordered pizza, and had a good time.

Half the reason I keep playing Magic is because I like hanging around with my gaming buddies. They're fun, funny folk.

So now it's tres late, and I must get to bed. Weekend coming up; yay!
