Robo Rally
Mark and I woke up and went to the Wild Iris Cafe for brunch. Their brunch menu is not as good as their yummy dinner menu, but it did the job. We drove around town a little more, and then came back and played Robo Rally.
This is a very cool game.
The basic idea is that you need to maneuver robots around a treacherous grid to touch a series of flags in order. The trick is that each turn consists of five moves, all of which are programmed at the beginning of the turn, which limits your ability to react. It gets worse if you take damage. I'm looking forward to playing this with four or five players, since I think it will lead to complete and total chaos - which has to be counted as a good thing!
Mark decided to head out early since he said he had some work to do before tomorrow. But it was nice having him. I gave him a flyer for Windycon since he said he may be able to attend it, and perhaps he can come up again. Having s weekend house guest turned out easier than I'd expected!
After Mark left, I did some picking up and cleaning, and then sat down and created a games page in my Web. It's about half-done, but the lists of games I want to describe are there. There are a lot of neat games out there today! I also tinkered a bit with a few of my other pages, and this evening I finished reading David Brin's The Postman, which is very good (albeit just a bit forced at the end). I hope to put up my review of it in the next couple of days.
It's getting cold... I half-closed the windows in my apartment tonight. Fall is here.
