Back on the Wheel

It was back on the wheel today as I headed back to work. I only had 60-odd e-mail messages built up, and it took me about 2 hours to get through them all (there are always several that require attention). I went to work with my friend Tracy, who is a fellow Babylon 5 junkie, and I told her what I learned about the show at Worldcon. In the afternoon I worked on some odds-and-ends projects (I maintain some internal databases we use for development tracking) and started preparing for my next major project. There's still some question of some of the details (which have been discussed, but no one recorded them to pass on to me), and some question of which teams at work will do what parts of the project. Sigh. So I'm trying to coordinate things myself.

Due to Memorial Day, this week's comics were delayed a day. Sigh, again.

I made a lap around Monona Bay this evening on my bike; it was quite windy, which made for a good workout, and I stopped at a boat launch on Lake Monona and felt the dock float up and down and watched the large waves rolling over the lake. I love stuff like that.

The bad news is that my fantasy baseball team, which has been in first place in our 10-team league since July, fell to second due to a really terrible week my players had last week. It will make for a real dogfight for the last month of the season. We play for money, and the difference between first and second is over a hundred bucks, so I'd really like to win this one. I've got work to do there.

But it was a pretty sedate day, all-in-all.
