"Party games" are games intended for a fairly large number of people (usually at least six or more), and which have relatively little "stuff" you need to keep track of. The idea is just to get people talking and laughing at a party.
Another game which serves well as a party game is The Great Dalmuti.

Pass The Bomb
Piatnik
Pass The Bomb has two components: First is a "bomb" which you set, and which then detonates between ten and sixty seconds later. Second is a deck of cards which have letters written on them, such as "ZZ", "ENT", "ARD", and so forth. When someone gets the bomb going, they then turn over a card and have to think of a word containing those three letters in that sequence. For instance, for "ARD" they might use "AARDVARK" or "CARD", but not "APPEARED". When they come up with a word, they then pass the bomb to the next person, who has to think of a different word, and so forth, until someone can't think of a new word, or the bomb goes off. That person then takes the card and play begins again. After 13 cards, the person with the fewest cards wins.
This leads to some very silly things, as people forget words that have been said before, people worry about whether they've thought of a real word (or try to sneak a fake word through without anyone noticing; we've come up with "SNIZZARD" and "STRUBBED", for instance), and so forth. It plays pretty quickly, but can be frustrating when your brain blanks on you for ten or twenty seconds.
I think this is a good game.
Taboo
Milton Bradley/Hasbro
In this game, you have two teams, alternating every other person in the circle. One person draws a card. This card contains one word, which that player must make his team guess. It contains five other words, which that player is prohibiting from saying in his efforts. Otherwise, he can do anything he wants. The goal is to get his team to guess words on as many cards as he can in 30 seconds. If he ever uses a "taboo" word, then that card is discarded.
This game is somewhat less frustrating than Pass The Bomb, though no less prone to devolve into hysterical laughter (which is a good thing). It's interesting to see how inventive someone can be in their descriptions.
I think this is a good game.
