No Public Money for A's

Although I've wanted to write letters to the San Jose Mercury News on several occasions, I've always resisted, figuring that in an area with this large a population I'm leaving myself open to crank phone calls (or bricks through my window) from any old loon who disagrees with me. But I decided in this case that I had something valuable to add to this issue, and that while it's important, it was unlikely I'd drive someone over the edge.
